About the Canadian Performing Artists Guild

The Canadian Performing Artists Guild (CanPAG) is a non-profit organization registered with the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act. CanPAG is dedicated to uplifting and supporting the diverse community of performing artists across Canada. Our mission is to provide financial aid, mentorship, and advocacy to help artists thrive in their careers. We believe in the transformative power of the arts and are committed to ensuring that every artist has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Every year, we send our best performers as a Team Canada delegation to the prestigious World Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood, California, U.S.A., to compete against delegates from many other countries.

Olivia’s voice, a crystal-clear soprano, soared through the living room, filling the small apartment with a performance that belied her young age. Her parents, though beaming with pride, exchanged a worried glance. The music lessons, the dance classes, the countless hours of practice – they were draining the family’s already meager finances.
Olivia dreamed of becoming a professional singer. She’d seen countless performances on television, her eyes sparkling with wonder as she imagined herself standing on a grand stage, the spotlight shining on her. But the reality was harsh. The cost of lessons, auditions, and travel was a mountain too steep for their family to climb.
Her parents, both working multiple jobs, had tried their best to support her passion. But the sacrifices they were making were taking a toll on their health and happiness. Olivia felt guilty, knowing her dreams were causing them so much stress.
One evening, while scrolling through social media, Olivia came across a post about the Canadian Performing Artists Guild (CanPAG). Her heart raced with hope. If she could get some financial assistance, she might be able to pursue her dream without burdening her family further.
Olivia decided to contact CanPAG. She wrote a heartfelt letter, pouring out her passion for music and her determination to succeed. When she received the news that she had been selected as one of the recipients, she couldn’t believe her luck. The funds would help her pay for voice lessons, audition fees, and even some professional headshots.
With CanPAG’s support, Olivia could finally focus on her talent. She began to audition for a delegation slot in Team Canada for the Hollywood-based World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) 2025, in hopes of gaining valuable experience and building her confidence. Her dream, once distant and unattainable, was slowly becoming a reality.
Olivia’s story is just one example of the countless talented young Canadians whose dreams are being held back by financial constraints. CanPAG is committed to providing these aspiring artists the support they need to reach their full potential.
